Solunar Tables Can Provide Peak Fishing Times

Outdoorsmen who are interested in finding the best hunting times and best fishing times have relied on the the moon phases to tell them when their chances of success are greatest. Solunar tables have been referenced for almost 8 decades since John Alden Knight first proposed his theory of fish and game activity in the 1930's.

The next generation of solunar table calculators… Continue

LOTS OF STRIPED MARLIN!!!!!

Sunshine and great fishing greeted our charter clients this week. The area holding the fish is east of Cabo around the Gordo Banks.
The Striped Marlin rounded out the billfish action along with Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado and occasional Wahoo are coming up in the pattern.

On Aug 24th. Mr. Gale Mettevre and his friends spent the day chasing fish around the Baja peninsula on our 40… Continue

WIDE VARIETY OF FISH CAUGHT!!!!

I’m always amazed at the summertime fishing around the Baja peninsula this time of year. Blue, Black and Striped Marlin are regulars in the trolled patterns behind the boats. Larger Yellowfin Tuna and some nice size Dorado were also caught this week. There was even a 15lb. Pargo caught while chumming with sardines on the Iman Bank. You just never know…..

August 18th. was… Continue

Tampa Bay Rivers are exploding with baby tarpon!

On a recent fishing excursion with charter partner

Capt. Sean Rice and Lawrence Eu, the owner and

founder of EUPRO Tackle, we did well in our pursuit

of juvenile poons.

After quickly sighting young tarpon rolling in the

the early morning shadows, we set our anchor

on the out going tide, pitched to the first poon to

break water and Zinnng, it was poon on!

The first tarpon spit the hook after alot of high

powered head shakes and arial ac… Continue

THE BIG FISH CONTINUE TO IMPRESS….

With only a few boats clearing the inlet each morning the number of Big Black and Blue Marlin that are being caught is surprising even to the locals that have been here and fished these waters all their lives.
So lets get right into the details of the weeks catches….

Mr. Booth and his family made a last minute decision to go chasing the fish on their vacation here at… Continue

Fly Fishing

I have been fishing almost my entire life, I caught my first bass on a closed face set up, but as I got older I started using a spinning rig. This year I started using a bait caster, and even though it has taken me some time to get used to it, I am very pleased with the results.
