I know it is only August, but I want to be prepared to do research for the Best possible gloves to use to keep my hands warm, but still be able to fish, put on bait, etc...I have tried latex which just made them colder. Most gloves I have seen are too bulky and too big for my small hands. Thanks for any help. I know our cold is Nothing like up North, but wet hands and cold wind sucks when you are trying to fish!!!
I now man, it sucks. And your right I have tried to maneuver with gloves on and it doesn't work. I thought perhaps there was some kind of magic device I could use. 60 degrees is cold to me and it sometimes gets down into the 30's and on the water it feels a lot colder!!!
So how are ya doing??
not when i fish in sub zero temps 60 will never be cold to me. your tips get cold because the blood is cold, if u have gloves on they will stay wamer alot longer. i wear wool fingerless gloves and my hands stay warm for a long time. I KNOW HOW TO FISH IN THE COLD!
I am shocked that you hate the cold living up there!!! Did you buy the gloves fingerless? I have tried gloves but they are too bulky plus how do you put live bait on your hook? Your hands get all wet. Vic suggested the hand warmers which I have tried. Also someone else suggest cuffs, ever heard of them? When my hands get cold there is no blood in the finger tips first then it runs right down my hand.
By the way awesome pic of the release!! How come you are out fishing Now? How's Shadow doing??
i worked 9 1/2 hours today so i am tired. yes i bought my golves that way. we would put the hand wamers inside the gloves on our palms or back of hand sometimes both.
Thanks Pat for all the Great ideas. I am defiantly going to try some of these suggestions. It will get so bad that I will just not fish until the weather warms up again and that really sucks!!
I'll keep ya posted...
Is it just your hands that get cold or it it your whole body?
I know when I bow hunt it's cold and I don't use gloves. I place two hand warmers on my kidneys and one on the back of my neck. It keeps your core temp up and keeps your body from shutting off blood flow to your limbs.
