Nick, I've been on GetReeled for years, and sadly it's not near as active as it has the potential to be. I'm an avid fisherman and think the site was a great idea. It just hasn't panned out like it should with all the potential it has.

As for my April trip, I've found a couple online that I am considering, but just wanted to know if anyone on here has had any good or bad experiences with guides in the Myrtle Beach area.

Hello Connor, I would not hold me breath looking for a responce on this site.  I posted a request for local information back in February and never saw anyone respond or even post any commenst on this site until your remarks popped up.

Unfortunately due to employment crisis I am selling my boat and leaving soon.  All I can say it sure is different fishing here versus Florida.  The water sure is muddy here.

Good Luck to ya

What's up guys and ladies? I'll be in Myrtle Beach in late April and want to do some fishing in the area. Do any of you have any recommendations for that time of year or for guides to hire for a day or so? I really want to bring some fillets back home.

I just relocated to the Charleston area from Tampa Bay.  I brought my Proline Flats Stalker 183 w/Merc 150 EFI with me.  I mostly fished the flats in and around Tampa Bay for Sea Trout, Reds and Snook being at the top of my target list.  But now I want to learn about here.  First the boat needs a once over and the trailer needs new bearings.  One cap flew off moving here and I was pumping in gease every 45 minutes.  I pass this place called Charleston Marine LLC on Dorchester every day to and from work.  Anyone know if they are a good place?  I need to do all the registration stuff too.

But most importantly, how and where are good areas to head out fishing.  My favorites of my pollshave been my G.Loomis 7'9" Greenwater ex-fast action pulls rigged with Shimano Stradic 3000 reels.  Are they going to be useful here?  I'm a little crazy and have lots of polls of various types, but most is for Florida inshore areas.

I understand there are Sea Trout and Redfish in the area.  I hear a lot about Flounder too.  On the FL west coast, those tend to be a by catch and they are small.  So I never targeted them.

I got a ton of questions, but I'll learn as I go, once I get started.  Any input is greatly appreciated.  I moved here not knowing anyone.  My office seems to be void of fishermen.

Thanks

I'm not sure about where to find bass in the area but Lake Moultrie has
some large catfish if you like those. The last time we were there we
caught a lot, the two biggest were 45 and 60 pounds. We put the 60
pounder back for breedstock,lol!
