Im going up to michigan to fish on the Au Sable River. From pictures on the internet, it looks kind of murky, and it doesnt look shallow. The river is famous for its brown trout. What would be some good flies for this river? Also im going to fly fish in Ontario, Canada really close to michigan on a river and i dont know what flies to use for this time of year, so can you ppl tell me what to use?

Sorry Avery,

I can't help you on this. I'll be fishing the Lomoille River in Vermont this coming Saturday on a float trip for browns and smallies.
Browns are tricky to catch t the best of times Avery. From what I hear they spook fairly easily. This time of year in western Canada, the trout are taking mostly nymphs. Maybe try nymphs and be sure to bring a Wooley Bugger.
Hi
When are you fishing Ontario? let me know and I can get you the hatch chart for that time.
Wooly buggers and wolly worms are always good.
Streamer pattern and grasshoppers in late summer if you are near fields.
im going in about 4 to 5 weeks.
