Hey, man!

Welcome to the site. Nothing better than fishing to relax you, for sure.

Hello to everyone / anyone! I'm in the Houston area and new to the site and yes I love to fish. Only one problem I don"t have transportation. Looking for a Fishing Buddy (ies) that I can join. Don"t mind paying for gas to or expenses. Please Reply

Hey Jairme!

nice to see those fish. I don't bring my camera when I fish; it's a big bulky SLR and a pain in the ass for carrying along the riverbank with all my other gear. I have, however, caught some nice trout this summer. I got a footlong last week and a bunch more pretty close to it.

I've been off work on stress leave for a few weeks now. The depression has been getting the better of me lately and I had a breakdown at work. I'm in the process of getting stabilized now, and in the process of changing my antidepressants I've had 3 drug withdrawals, one for each decrease in medication. I'm into the 3rd one here now. Sucks like all hell.

I've tied hundreds upon hundreds of flies trying to keep my mind busy, and on my good days I get out to use them. I didn't even know I had the footlong on my line lol. I was talking to a guy and had my line absentmindedly dangling. What a surprise when I went to leave! It was on the bbq a half-hour later.

Keep up the good fishing. I am when conditions permit.

Got a pair of sea trout yesterday. Fish & chips last night and sandwiches today.

Hey, how about this: I took a $3 dollar store spinning rod a few weeks ago, stripped down the butt end and rebuilt it as a fly rod. Now I got something to take brook fishing with me. A nice little 5-footer. When I tried it out I got a trout with it.

I was going to put up a picture but the idea came to me right about when the wife was pulling out of the driveway to go to work and it's in the car. Nothing spectacular by any means, but an interesting little project just the same. I'm still expanding my horizons haha.

Right on, Jairme, good to hear you had fun. I did a 5-day canoe trip with a friend a number of years ago, but little fishing that time.

The brook trout are taking flies here now. Got a couple so far. I gotta get some of my lures done for myself now. When I get them done, they generally get either sold or given away. And people ask me why I don't use my own lures, haha; I can't keep 'em long enough!

Gotta take off; got a miserable cold and when I hold my head down, all the snot runs out. Got sent home from work today. TTFN,

hey Al...I had the time of my life up at my camping trip... 6 days in the wild.. we went hardcore this year and spent the majority of the nights sleeping without a tent, by the fire ... quite the experience!

I did go fishing as well... my buddy caught all the fish... 6 in all... tiny river small mouth, nothing too spectacular besides the bragging rights of catching the first fish of the year... i started slow last year too and caught my biggest largemouth to date.. incredible summer fishing... good to hear ur out and fooling around on the water also!

Haven't used those lures u made for me yet... I'm waiting for the more active season to yield their results!

Keep well Friend

Hey Jairme,
Getting any fishing in yet? I've caught a couple small trout so far, but nothing major.
