We just crossed the border into WI on Lake Koshkonong last weekend and trolled with sonic lures. We caught a bunch of stripers out in the lake.

For those of you up in the Northern half of the state, you really need to check out Shabbona Lake and Shabbona State Park. It's probably an hour and half west of Downtown Chicago. Fished it a few times in college and loved it.

Anyone have any hot spots they'd like to share near SE McHenry County? I'm looking for good LM Bassing holes.

I live and fish in DuPage extensively. I have pretty much fished in every body of water in DuPage. I have my favorite spots. Some are very productive, but also very selective as to methods. I'd love to discuss these honey holes. Drop me a line.

Update... Deep Quarry was pretty slow until sunset, when somebody flipped a switch and the crappie and walleye turned on. Stayed good for maybe 2 hours. The wind really hurt things, the best action came in quiet wind-shaded spots. Minnows were the best producer, but I saw one guy pull up a couple off the pier on a white grub jig.

Silver Lake in Blackwell Woods (Winfield and Butterfield rds) has some decent bass. Caught a few yesterday (8/07) until the rain started, then everything sucked. Deep Quarry (West Branch FP) has been dead past few days, no one catching anything today (Sat 8/08). Will try again this afternoon with sun and heat setting in. Also, Naper Blvd and Warrenville rd, next to the Hilton is a pond with some bass and cats.
