chipr, i fish the chippewa river in wisconsin. i target the area below the jim falls dam. i usually look for weed flats. rock crops, or back eddies. i throw buck tails, top water baits, and big plastic baits. try the hawg wobbler, top raider, tally wacker, or something similer. i have had luck on the king sized x-rap in perch, as well

Just joined this group, I am in South Central Wisconsin and have fished the Wisconsin River going into Lake Wisconsin for 27 years. I have caught a number of Muskies but never because I was fishing for them. This year I would like to tackle going after them not by accident but by planned. What am I really looking for as far as structure depth etc in an ever changing body of water? Not wanting to fill my boat with Muskie baits what 5 baits would you suggest to throw?

For Rene: Dirty water in the fall? Lake St.Clair? I would have to say the best bait for this situation is the Chartruese/Black Dot Suick...10 inch model...cast and work very fast or troll...trolling this bait is insane! Second choice would be a chartruese/ gold blade double cowgirl...get the blades moving! Anything that is bright or put up big water movement is key! Also the bait should be no smaller than a nine inch bait!
For Bean: I fish the Kawartha Lakes often and the fishing right now is unbelievable :) Look for rock piles and schools of perch and walleye in open water! Fish right through the school and hang on!

hey folks,
just got home from guiding on lac seul all summer. looking to talk shop with any kawartha lakes muskie hunters. haven't been around all summer...whats working/whats not...that sort of thing.
