Fishing Oklahoma lakes, rivers, and ponds is a favorite Oklahoma past time. In addition to the many area lakes, Oklahoma is home to many excellent fishing ponds. The ponds are typically on private land, and require permission to fish from the owner. Lake fishing in Oklahoma is great, and most are accessible to the public.
What is everybody's favorite lake to fish here in the great state of Oklahoma?Continue

Comment by Steve Campbell on November 15, 2011 at 7:51pm Hey yall anyone still using this group?
Looks kind of dead heheh, I reckon most are too busy fishin to post.
My name is steve my friends call me Fishhunter when they aint mad at me . I got an invite to getreeled yesterday and figured it was a good place for postin my fish pics and do some braggin and tel some fishin ly..um...err.. stories. But looks like the latest post is over a year old !
I live in Oklahoma city and and fish at least once a week year round . My new favorite close to home fishing spot is the Oklahoma river (formerly north canadian before the dams went up) The Bites are few and far between and my fishin buddy hates it ( too trashy he sez) But I have a slew of pics from the last two or three years of bass and some crappie and white bass too, all caught from the river!
Some times just one or two bass or even skunked and my record number of bass is only 12 in about 6 hours of fishin, eight of those were over 14" (its catch and release on bass in the river) 4 of those were over 3 pounds . That does'nt sound overly impressive but the best part is I can have my boat loaded and be home in 10 minutes, postin pics ! haha Many days including the day I caught those 12 bass, I had the whole 3 mile stretch al to myself ! I have a small 1968 foremost alum. vee hull and most of the time just run the trolling motor. The river is no wake but motors are allowed. Ive seen everything from kyaks to Basscats.
So far there are only a hand full of regulars that fish the river. I spose it may be cause the City has not put any courtesy docks at all three boat ramps , and like my fishin buddy they cant see past the trash,I admitt it is sad but after I crank baited the first 3 pounder in I was hooked. There is bass in them floatin bottles and soccer balls!
Sorry I got carried away with a long post .
But if you guys only get around to this group once a year u may as well stick around for a bit ! lol
So if any guys here from OKC and fish the river or think they should I say it's the better than any other close to home fisheries , what do you think?
