unreal.... this type of fish isn't found anywhere in Canada (not to my knowledge anyway). It's exotic look seems to shout deep south anyway.. I kinda figured somewhere in Florida or so... nonetheless, they are stunning! by far the prettiest bass I've ever seen! Thanks for creating this group! i hope all will come to enjoy Peacock bass!

I adore peacock bass! They bite when all the other big fish aren't in the mood, and they fight hard. They are also really, really tasy! I lived 5 minutes from Biscayne National Parks canals, and they are thick through there. I would race home with enough for lunch, clean them, pour a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, onions, and salt w/pepper over them. Then throw them whole onto a hot grill. They have a nice white meat without the black strands that run through large mouth bass meat, and they taste as good as grouper and snapper. What a fish!

I live on the west coast and dream about catching a peacock bass...you cant catch them here but I just recently found out I can catch them in Florida. I want to catch one so bad, that I have one growing in a fish tank. I got him when he was only 2 inches long, and now he is about 12 inches long and weighs over 2 lbs. I will arriving in Florida sometime this summer to get some!!!
