Fishing West Virginia

The number of fishing lakes in the state of West Virginia is limited but the fishing makes up for it. Big bass, fat walleye, plentiful crappie and monster stripers and catfish are available to anglers in their favorite lakes, ponds, streams and rivers.

Comment by Luke Williams on April 11, 2008 at 11:20am: I fish a lot of backwater sloughs in eastern west virginia, if you haven't tried it, sein some of your own minnows around the area that you will be fishing in... let me know how it pans out for you guys...

Comment by david bragg on March 26, 2008 at 12:31am: If fishing farm ponds in early spring i've had my best luck using a slow rolling spinner white jig.Last March I went and caught over 20 bass that day and was only around 60 to 65 outside with a overcast.
