This smallie was caught as the result of an impromptu stop at the highway 156 bridge over the Wolf River. I was going to cast at the boat landing on the way home from work at the last minute to see what I could catch. I pulled in and there was someone already there. I had a bass exploding at my lure there last week but it would never take it hard enough to set the hook. Since the landing is small, I moved to the other side of the bridge where there is a public fishing area. I started casting and hooked into one within a half a dozen casts. I had the drag set too tight and lost a brand new lure. After putting on a new lure and resetting the drag I caught this nice little beauty. I stuck around for a couple dozen more casts but had to get going. That's a lot of fun for a few minutes worth of distraction from the daily grind.
