About Me
I am a young Michigan native Capt that runs a Sport Fishing Charter in Guatemala. I have almost two and half seasons under my belt. We are the world record holder in most catch and release numbers for pacific sail fish, and we are now the number 2 place to be for Blue Marlin. Basically year round we are catching different types of fish. Name it, and we probably have it here, and know how to catch it.

Have you caught a Sailfish on the fly???

I am a young 26 year old Michigan Capt that now lives in Guatemala Central America where I run and own a sport fishing company. We are getting more and more fly fishermen coming down from areas up north and throughout the US regions. Many of which are interested in catching a sailfish on the fly, and few have caught a Marlin on the fly. If you don't know sails here in Guatemala can get anywhere from 100 lbs on average to 150 lbs on the high end, and double digit days are the norm here for at… Continue

Sport Fishing in Guatemala Central America

I just joined this group. It looks pretty good so far. I am from Michigan as of 2 and a half years ago, but now I Captain of my own Sport Fishing company in Guatemala. We are the sail fish capital of the world, and we are also becoming very well known for our Blue Marlin hook ups. Have any of you fished these water? Or somewhere similar? I am curious as you your impression of this type of fishing. Also have any of you fly fished a bill fish before? That is greatly popular here! In the prime… Continue

Chris,
Hi I was wondering if you could help. Being a Michigan Marlin man like yourself and me being from Michigan fisherman thought I would just ask you something. I'm heading to Cabo San Lucas for my honeymoon and want to get on some big striped marlin, I guess the blues arnt really in right then. Im goin from Feb5th-12th 2010 and was wondering if u knew anyone down there that might be better than just asking the front desk at my hotel or seaching the web for a captain. Any suggestions--To bad im not heading to Guatamala

I'm intrigued by your operation, Chris. I went to the website and the package prices are astonishing!. What is the time of year when the seas are typically the flatest (I'm not a really good offshore guy, especially in a small boat) I fished Tropic Star LY in Panama and had a great trip - 1st billfish (sails), 500# black, 75 # rooster, nice cubera, lots of yellowfins.
