The fish are moving up in a big way.

Tuesday The bite was slow. It just seemed to be one of those days where you had a bite here or two here and a bite there. Never really caught any big fish but the what we caught came on a trap and a…Continue

fish are moving up by the day.

Fished a half day to day with two young guys who where out practicing for a tournament that they have coming up. Stopped at the first spot around 7:45 or 8:00 and with in 10 minutes 1 caught the first fish which was a good solid 3 to 3/12 pound football. Made a few more cast and stuck a big that pulled off and threw back out there and caught another 3 pound fish and when I hooked up the boy in the back said I got one to and his was about 4 1/2 to 5 pounds. That was pretty much the story of the day. We fished 5 or 6 more places and got bites on 4 of them. If you haven't got a bite with in 20 minutes or so you best move on and come back later. We caught 12 or so and called it a day. Once they seen that the fish were there we were gone. Caught fish on traps and jigs and he caught one on a shaky head that he had tied on. Most fish cam from the 2 to 4 foot range and the others were in the 7 to 10 foot range.

Still have a few days for Mach open if any one is interested.

Good luck and keep it safe.

Fishing Report for Lake Guntersville, Al 3-30-15

Its been a few weeks since my last report but I have been running full day trips everyday and then on several of the days I followed it up with another half day trip so that I could get everyone out on the water to get them pointed in the right direction. We have had some really good days and we have had some really tough days. The fish were starting to pull up really good until this last cold front hit and pulled them back out a little. Before the cold front we was finding water temps in…

Just a quick report on Lake Guntersville before heading out

Since my last report things are still the same out there. We are catching fish from 7 to 10 feet of water on grass lines mixed with shell and stumps on traps, crankbaits. Out of the last 10 days I have spent 7 days on the water scouting different areas of the lake out. I did have a few trips this week and I have them all weekend. The trips earlier in the week did not produce any big bites just solid 3 to 3 ½ pound fish and I feel that with the full moon the majority of the fish were feeding…

The fish are running in groups

I got out on Wednesday to start checking some areas and getting ready for the busy season ahead. I have fished at least 3 days a week since November but a lot of those days were spent crappie fishing and filling the freezer for the summer. With the water temp being between 48 and 51 degrees I had a good idea of where to start looking with the amount of grass we still have. After idling around and a little looking with the graphs I found what I was looking for in 8 to 12 feet of water on some…
