About Me
Fishing since 2.
My grandfather taught me to catch bass and now I mainly fly fish.

Fly fishing for the last 2.5 years has re-awakened the fisherman in me.

I grew up soaking bait and using spinners in the Northwest.
I now live in the Southwest where it takes a lot more work to find good spots, but we have them.

I greatly appreciate the outdoors. I like packing in and pitching a tent places not many go.

I like hiking and fishing streams best.

Fly fishing has added a whole new level to fishing I never knew was possible.
How passionate are you about fishing?
20-50

Fishing Report: June 10th, Azusa Canyon, West Fork

I began in the lake portion, west of the bridge to East Fork. I tried Swim baits, spinners, and wooley buggers. Not even a bite. I fished for an hour for trout, bass, and perch while huge carp swam by lazily three feet from shore.

Before heading home I wanted to fly fish the stream.

I walked to the stream just under the bridge at 12:30. I didn't want to walk far, and this spot has two merging streams.

As I slowly approached I took notice to a quick splash. While I… Continue

Thanks for the compliments. The Striper laying on the ground I caught by mistake. I was using a Sage Launch 5 wt with a Sage 1650 reel. I was fishing for shoal bass when that monster jumped on my line. I then upgraded to a GLoomis Cross Current 9wt with Lamson Konic reel.

slide wight. 2 foot leader perch hang out in the dip where waves break. corbina come all the way to a couple inches of water. i prefer to use the softer shelled preferably with the orange roe. i hook em meat side first through the shell and back into the roe.

i think the largest spotted bass i have caught was just short of 17 inches. i honestly rarely check for weight. i dont even own a scale anymore. the average catch at our current spot is 15 inches.
