Kayak Fishing - Choosing a Watercraft

I do a lot of kayak fishing in various rivers in the southeast and I have always gone back and forth about types of watercraft are best for fishing and in particular river fishing. I know that I've chatted with many of you on this topic recently so when I saw this article I thought it was worth sharing. Enjoy!

Choosing A Watercraft:

This answer to this question is a little more complicated because there are so many different types of rivers, but I will…

Fishing Trip To The Amazon Scheduled for June 2009

Hey guys,

I have planned several fishing trips to Peru for June, August and October of this year. Our objective is to hangout and have a good time fishing for a week at Palo Verde Lodge in the Amazon rain forest in Peru. This area of the jungle is not known for trophy peacocks like Brazil, since the predominant species are the "butterfly peacock bass", but last year I was pulling them out between 4 and 10lbs and we will be fishing some areas that have not previously been fished. If your… Continue

I'd rather fish from my Kayak now than take my boat out, trying to talk a few friends here into trying it without much luck.

I was using a Booyah Spinner bait (Chartreuse Tandem Blade, 1/2 oz.). I had tried all morning with top water Booyah Buzz bait with no luck. 5 minutes after switching to the spinner bait we started getting hit. We ended up catch 3 inside of 10 mintutes ranging from 2-4lbs. I am going to be at the lodge for the first week in November and am planning to try several new areas, techniques and baits and see if I can get a big one, I know they are there! Definately let me know about next year, I am tentatively planning to go in June of 2009 with a few fishing buddies, might be a good time to consider. Keep in touch!
