Ralph King replied to John's discussion 'finding what they are eating' in the group Fly Fishing
"John, If there is a hatch, see if you can identify the bug. Tie on something looking like that bug and try it. If nothing is hatching and you may know what bugs may be in the lake, tie on a stimulator and a dropper. Good luck."

SHADOW THE MUSKY MASTER replied to Ralph King's discussion 'Bluegill?'
"The monster gills have been coming out of the madison chain in madison WI. I usually use some for bait but those are normally the ones in the 5-8 inch range. I am hoping to go out tonight, maybe I can get one of the monsters to eat again, missed a…"

SHADOW THE MUSKY MASTER replied to Ralph King's discussion 'Bluegill?'
"I don't really fish for bluegills, sure when the muskies aren't eating I will kill some time and catch some gills. For me I use a 5 ft ugly stick, really small jig heads and gulp alive or powerbait under a bobber. I have released over 100…"

James Hoyd Routh, Jr. replied to Ralph King's discussion 'Bluegill?'
"I'm in NC, but I fish a lot from my kayak on Smith Mountain Lake in Va. I generally use a 4 wt. fly rod with a 10 or 12 popper. I've never had much luck with nymphs, but I may be fishing them wrong. The kayak seems to be the trick though.…"

Hey Ralph....Yes that is Gunpowder Falls, lower Glenco and Sparks area. We will be there Saturday for opening day to catch a few as we are hungry for some fresh caught fish! If you have your gear ready you should come on out as they start fishing at 5:30 am and the waters will be loaded with lots of fishermen rain or shine. Fish On!

We have a little row boat that we use sometimes. Haven't used it yet in Unicorn. We have used it in Urieville Lake though. We mostly fish on weekends Sat and Sun. Just look for the Green Demon...HaHa!

Yes, we just started going to Unicorn Lake a couple weeks ago. Its a nice place to go. We haven't caught a whole lot there yet. Maybe a couple chain pickerel and crappie but not much to size. Rob and I have never fly fished but he has said he would love to try it. Still Pond is an excellent place to fish too when the tides up. Thats where I go to catch loads of crappie (good eating!!!)
