Laying the Hammer Down...

Ok...so I understand being skeptical of fishing lures and their capabilities. I have had many comments and emails on my post "Top 5 Canadian Pike Lures" from people who either cannot believe that I would fish for Pike with these wimpy lures or cannot believe that their favorite lures are not included :) I understand that we all have our favorites and ask my readers to keep in mind that these are just my favorites and I am not trying to discount your favorites.… Continue

Top 5 Canadian Pike Lures...

He gave me some examples and then, on my first fishing trip, I tested them out. I have to admit. Only one lure was really hot that first year...and many years after - The Orange Hammer!!! However, I caught Pike on each of the following lures and I find that they are,… Continue

Looks like you like to have fun and fish... or should I say fish and have fun. We hold an annual event at our Canadian fishing lodge that you might like. It's called WOW Women On the Water. We take a small group of women with various levels of experience, some of them have little to none, and take em' fishing. We have seminars, contests, shore lunches and a bunch of fun. Check it out at
http://www.southshorelodge.com/pages/page.asp?pagename=WOW. You might like to join us or we would entertain a second WOW fisherbabe edition???

Yes we are 45 miles east of Yellowknife. You should have hit not too bad of weather last week. The summer was cooler than usual. Hope you had a good week at Mackay. I am sure they do a great job. It was our last week also. I will be adding some Laker photos soon. My problem is that I spend most of my days guiding and teaching fly fishing to friends and I am able to get some fantastic Pike photos. With Lakers the guys are on their own more with traditional and fly. So less photos of course. We had a great time up river from the lodge on light gear and fly for Lakers last week. They get thick enough to walk on as you probably experienced at Mackay. We have kept ourselves to a max of 8 since opening in 98. It has made our job a joy instead of work. I figure if you love your job, then you will never have to work. Of to check your photos, Stretch
