IM usually on the assinaboine but i try to get out to Lockport alot to thats where i catch all my big ones too, then in winter i head up to selkirk too just at sugar island in some nice shantys for walleyes.
It depends on the time of year what we use for bait...Early may to June usually shrimp, small whole squied, or chicken livers...then once the goldeye come into the river in mid june, you have to catch some goldeye and cut them into pieces for bait...they will bite steady until late september...then, the walleye come in from the lake, and its time for some 10-12 pound green backs. And yeah, you a right, it is a pretty awesome river to fish, northern pike, walleye, goldeye, mooneye, sauger, silver bass, freshwater drum...
Once the water levels go down a little, I'll be back out and sill take some more pictures...but tomorrow, smallies...we'll see how that goes.
Hope you've had a good fishin weekend
