We had a great day fishing on the Seabiscuit and got a chance to catch some nice White Sea Bass. We ended up with three on the boat and lost a few and full limits of nice rockfish, reds and lings. Another great day I hope you can join us one of these days.

The Strike King 6XD - Digging Down Deep
Baits get hot in the fishing world overnight. It happens all of the time. Someone catches a giant bass on this, or someone wins a tournament on that. It is so common that we don’t even think about the progression of how the lure came to be, or what characteristics make it different from similar offerings. We just know that it’s hot now. It doesn’t…

Just want to thank the club members that helped out at the Veterans home putting new line on all the poles and making sure they work. Getting ready for their first tournament on May 16. at 9am to 2pm. then of course the fish fry afterwards. Its the least we can do for the people that gave us the freedom so we can go fishing when we want.

More than just a good fly....
By name, it’s simply known as a Griffith’s Gnat, nothing spectacular and often overlooked, but to me, it’s so much more…
When I think back to my beginnings into fly fishing, one of the first flies I learned to tie was the Griffith’s Gnat. Nothing more than a hook covered with a peacock herl and then some grizzly hackle to finish off the fly. Looking at it, most people wonder what exactly it’s imitating. In the eyes of the fish, whatever the gnat is…

Kona Charter Fishing - Marlin Part 2 of 2 (video)
March 24th brought Rick and his friend down to the Tropical Sun for another shot at the elusive blue marlin.
