Fishing Report for Lake Guntersville, Al 3-30-15

Its been a few weeks since my last report but I have been running full day trips everyday and then on several of the days I followed it up with another half day trip so that I could get everyone out on the water to get them pointed in the right direction. We have had some really good days and we have had some really tough days. The fish were starting to pull up really good until this last cold front hit and pulled them back out a little. Before the cold front we was finding water temps in…

Just a quick report on Lake Guntersville before heading out

Since my last report things are still the same out there. We are catching fish from 7 to 10 feet of water on grass lines mixed with shell and stumps on traps, crankbaits. Out of the last 10 days I have spent 7 days on the water scouting different areas of the lake out. I did have a few trips this week and I have them all weekend. The trips earlier in the week did not produce any big bites just solid 3 to 3 ½ pound fish and I feel that with the full moon the majority of the fish were feeding…

What an amazing treat for the lucky anglers fishing January 27 2015 just south of Quepos, they were fishing for Snook near one of the river mouths just south of Quepos / Manuel Antonio when they got the shock of a lifetime. After hooking up what they thought was a Snook the Tarpon went airborne and as it…

2015 NEW ORLEANS RED FISH REPORT- 1/12/15 CATCHING RED FISH AFTER A BIG COLD FRONT

This weekend we had a pretty good size cold front come in. 20mph North West winds dropped the temps of the air and water. It also push a bunch of water out the marsh causing some red fish to be relocated from their lil holes in the marsh and into some deeper water. Regardless of the weather we did a fine job of catching fish and making the best of the conditions . Thanks again to my Baltimore and New York crews for “COMING FISH A NAWLINS GOOD…

The fish are running in groups

I got out on Wednesday to start checking some areas and getting ready for the busy season ahead. I have fished at least 3 days a week since November but a lot of those days were spent crappie fishing and filling the freezer for the summer. With the water temp being between 48 and 51 degrees I had a good idea of where to start looking with the amount of grass we still have. After idling around and a little looking with the graphs I found what I was looking for in 8 to 12 feet of water on some…

Hungry bass eats last meal!

Normally I’m really not a hard case bass fisherman, but when we take our Sea Eagle out for a few hours of Tilapia or Mayan Cichlid fishing, we usually catch a small bluegill and hook it up to a medium action rod with 17 lb. line and a #3 bass hook, and all that hangs under a bobber, then we just wait until it goes…

Flipping is key right now and the frog bite is turning on

The water temp is starting to cool down some with the cool nights that have been around and the fish are starting to get more active. Some fish have finally moved in the mats and are biting a frog but flipping is the best way to go for us. Things should continue to get better and better and believe me, it is way over due. Small creature baits are working best with a 1oz. Weight.

There are several mats that are starting to turn on and the frog bite should be wide open before…
