DAV's 3rd Annual Bass Tournament is coming up on April 4th, I am entering and representing our local chapter #57. The tourney is at Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, AR off of I-40, and is a new lake to me. I just started fishing here in AR last year, we moved here the year before and was too busy to play that year, but now there is no excuse. This is almost a dream come true, I have wanted to fish in a tourney all my life, and now I get the chance to do so, and I am going to blog all the way… Continue

I'm not one for blogs, but after watching coverage of the Bassmaster's Classic this weekend, I can truely say that I am sick of this hard stuff. I have lake trout, whitefish and steelhead amongst other things to tie me over, but its just not the same. To me, there's nothing as satisfying as feeling that tick on your line as your crawl your jig past a laydown. We're 132 days away, thats too long!!! Thank God for April on Erie!

Recently I wondered about my obsession with fly-fishing. Some call it a sport, but I believe that fly-fishing is a true art.

Kim Bain-Moore qualified to fish the Classic this year by fishing her way to AOY on the Women's Bassmaster Tour (WBT) and winning the WBT Championship. But after watching a few interviews with guys like Ken Cook and Paul Elias I started to get the feeling that Kim Bain-Moore was an unwelcome addition to the traditionally all-male Bassmaster Classic. However, once I heard the comments made by Bernie Schultz, Scott Rook, Greg Hackney, and Peter… Continue

On February 8th, Mike's Sporting Goods
was a last minute addition to a fishing flea market in Palmyra, New Jersey. The Palmyra show was informative and successful for us. This time the most popular shirt was our striper t-shirt
, with the flounder t-shirt
coming in a close second. We also sold a fair amount of… Continue

Just when I thought I had found the ultimate culling system, Lucky2Creations, LLC, introduced the new paradigm in culling systems -Accu-Cull. Although it has only been on the market for three weeks, Accu-Cull is giving the big companies a run for their money and has completely revolutionized culling - it is the better mousetrap. Read… Continue
