I finally got a chance to get the boat out on the water, and I actually caught some fish as well. going to lake Acworth this time of is about like fishing the desert, but I wasn't the only one out, and I caught four bass between 1 and 3 lbs. Nothing to write home about, but a good first run. I plan on getting out many more times.

Had a better morning today.
Decided to start deeper because it's been a cooler year and I didn't find many fish on the lower end of the lake yesterday. Caught three crappie in a main-lake creek channel in 18-22 feet of water about 6-8 feet off bottom on Crappie Thunders tipped with Crappie Nibbles. Moved to a nearby cove and caught one small LMB shallow in about 4 feet of water and missed three other fish on long casts w/slip bobber. Air temp 67-73, surface temp 62-63, wind S at 15.…

Fished from 7:30 to 10:30 this morning before having to come in to work. Only managed one white bass, about 12 inches long, on a red/white Turbo Tail Roadrunner on a plain (no-blade) 1/16th oz. jig fished under a dock in about 7 foot of water. Surface temp 60-61, wind N at 5-10. It was 48, foggy and drizzling for most of the time I was out.
Had a few other very light hits under that dock and in shallower water. Spooked some bedding bass too back in a shallow drainage ditch on the…

So far all I've been doing is waiting for the snow to leave and today the city went by and created a 10 foot snowbank on my front lawn. Now I'm not only anxious I'm depressed thinking the snow will never leave. At least I know that in May the pike tournaments will start and the fun will begin.

If figure I'll keep up on my blog, since I have several hundred readers a day... This weekend I won't be attempting to fish and wimp out due to 12 inches of snow. This weekend I will be headed back to the northwoods to make maple syrup! It's boiling time, and I'm a first timer, so this should be fun!

Congratulations...we have reached 100 members! It is fantastic to see how this site has grown over the last couple weeks. With more members, comes more ideas. We have had some great discussions in our forums about techniques, styles and preferences. One fascinating thing about these forums has been the numbers of ways people fish for the same type of fish. That is why fishing for bass is the greatest sport in this world. I know we have more bass enthusiasts on…

Well with a 19th place finish (out of 40) last weekend on lake Marion down in Kenansville FL my partner and I move into 34th place over all. We came in with four fish at just under 7 lbs. One 3 pounder I took on a cane toad green frog on 50lb braid and 2 others came flipping a water mellon candy ZOOM speed craw. My partner had the other one. Little back story...
I am fishing a team tounament trail out of Orlando FL with a guy who has never fished in a tournament b4. I missed the…

Just got back from the Crappie Anglers of Texas club meeting tonight. Looks like there will be a pretty good turnout for the tournament Saturday. I think 19 teams are registered right now. Too bad I have to work Saturdays until school is out.
Bert Brown, one of the guys I carpool with, drew Ernest Paty as a partner. I'm guessing they will do well.

Back out for a couple of hours this evening without any success. Tried top of water baits. Also tried some rooster tails and worms. Temps in the 50's with a strong wind.

Im planning on heading downstate to southeastern PA for the early trout opener March 29th. But I can't wait that long so yesterday I fished a wild trout stream down the road from my cabin. Saw some nice 8 inch brookies, but never had a chance at them. One false movement and they were gone. I snuck up to a nice pool of water and casted my panther martin in and ended up catching 3 brook trout 4-6 inches long. There was still a lot of ice on the slower moving pools, so I couldnt fish some of the…

Good Friday and bad fishing, lol. Went to James Reed Memorial Wildlife Area and froze due to the high wind. Not a bite. Used live bait. This was our 2nd trip there. Great place. I will return when the temperatures improve. Did not catch anything on previous trip either. Used jigs, rooster tail, etc on that visit. I plan to carry a camera and post pictures next visit.
