Three buddies and I booked a trip to Lyon Sleepers, which is located at Lake of the Woods, MN. I have never taken an ice fishing trip like this at all and it seemed very interesting to me to say the least…72 hours of living on an ice covered lake and fishing. My buddies and I are hard core fisherman and we made it work well for us. We caught 202 saugers, 40 walleyes, 2 northern and 2 perch.…

The other day I went up to the Raven Fork in Cherokee, NC with Louis Cahill. We always try to choose the nastiest days to hit the river up there to avoid the crowds, but despite the heavy rain, there was still quite a bit of angler traffic. As the weather warms and the ice and snow melt, the time is right for NE Ohio steelhead.
The Conneaut creek is running fast and still rising, but the steelhead ore on the bite! When the water is stained like this in the spring thaw, we have our best luck with live bait and spinning gear. The old standby of maggots and penmens is good bet, but I have good luck with minnows at this time of year too. As a matter of fact, I would use the minnows over all other baits right now. I know it's… Continue
