Aboard the Kona Concept we had a lovely family from Japan who had flown over from Oahu to experience charter fishing off the Kona coast.  The grandfather was an avid fisherman, and wanted to introduce his son in-law, daughter and grandchildren to sport-fishing.  We left the harbor at 9am after their short inter-island flight.

Being 16 years old, I didn't get to fish with friends competitivly which I had always wanted to do but my high school in Hoover, Alabama started a bass fishing team which I joined and was introduced to more people like me. Starting the day right before the tide changes from a falling to a rising tide always tips the scales in your favor.  An afternoon fishing and whale/dolphin trip with on the Malolo started out great.  Just as we were about to leave the usual dolphin area Capt.
