Today when I woke up I saw a box on the table and realized that it was for me. I had won a fishing tackle prize last month and have been waiting for it to come in the mail. Well today is that day and I opened it up to a Northland bag with a bunch of hooks and soft plastic baits in little packages. I've always liked Northland and now I pretty much have everything from them I didn't have before which is nice. And once again I'm heading out to the camper this weekend so I now have a good place to… Continue

I was out on Fayette County Lake, Tx Monday 5-17-10 along with less than 20 other boats. Lake level was up almost to the 2X12s', I could step off the dock into the boat with no Prob. The water visibility was about 18" and water temps ran from 87 to 90 degrees. Now I did say I was out there with less than 20 other boats, well I just hope these people are not members here.
Boat #1 thought I was fishing too slow so they came up behind me within 6 feet passed along side me so close I… Continue

The trailer is finished as far as repairs go from our misfortune at the end of last year when we found the end of the concrete with our trailer. We also stripped the boat down to the pontoons this last year and replaced the rotting deck board and rotting carpet. When we started looking things over we decided to purchase one of the molded plastic captain's stations. So we now have that in place and we have just received the new trolling motor to go on the boat. I'm really looking forward to the… Continue

The oil spill in the Gulf is a lot worse than people think, it is already effecting fishing in south Ms. and Al. and is starting to move to the west, it won’t be long before it starts affecting most of the USA. When it gets in the Gulf Stream it will travel up the entire Eastern seaboard and that is not what anybody wants to see. BP needs to hurry up, plug the well and get their mess cleaned up so we can start fishing again and enter more fishing reports!!!! Go to fishingjournals.com for the… Continue

We’ve lived in Florida for almost five years now and have never had an experience like this Saturday morning April 24th, 2010. I certainly hope this doesn’t turn you off from ever wanting to come fish in this state because you must realize this is a very unique occurrence that just doesn’t happen but once in a person’s life.
We certainly didn’t have to travel far because our decision to fish in the Four Mile Cove Ecological Park, some two… Continue

Identifying the key elements and patterns is a critical factor often turning our bass trips from fishing events into bass catching adventures.
Most of us can recall the generalities of past days on the water then mentally compare those sketchy details against the conditions we currently face during a day of fishing.
Although many of the methods employed and patterns encountered may be remembered, the subtle details that actually lead to success during those previous outings… Continue

Countless bass fishermen have been using stickbaits for instance Nitro-Minnows or XPS Minnows since their first days of Mozingo Lake fishing
. Though initially made as either a floating or sinking fishing bait, many astute angler rapidly unraveled a little modification to these minnow baits produces a bait that can be more effectively fished at intervening depths.
