I just headed out today 6.29.09 to a freinds of a freinds stock pond on some private property of theirs. They havent stocked it in years but only practice catch and release so there are some monsters out there. My buddy and I went out there, which he assured me, i could catch something. After 45 minutes of trying everything from swim baits, spinnerbait, jigs, worm, crankbaits and even some catfish stinkbait we got nothing. I decided to throw live worm in the water. Within my second cast I… Continue

I was out doing some light fishing today. Really I wasn't fishing, I was teaching my 5 year old cousin how to fish. Started off by teaching her how to cast with her new Barbie fishing pole (her gma bought it for her), and then we hit a small pond nearby. I hooked her up with a hotdog, didn't have any bait, and fished for a while. Well her first cast she caught a fish, swallowed the hook, but it was a pretty big panfish. I don't really know what it was though. It looked like a blue gill except… Continue

It's official!!! The crew for Fletchers got together and talked about it. Memebers Tim, steve, Scott, and myself were busy planning menus, discussing costs, drinking beer, etc. Anyway, if you think about it, the trip was already planned like five years ago. We talk about the same thing over and over, because of course Tim tries to complain about something that needs no complaints. The trip is set though, the last week of July at Fletchers Floodwaters, one of Michigan's premier fishing spots… Continue

There's not too many times that I can DEFINITELY say that I've caught the same fish more than once...but last night I caught the same fish that I caught last week...Ol' Scarface! OK, it's not a scar on his face, but a wound on his back...but work with me, it's a concept issue...and it sounds better than Brokeback Largemouth. LOL!
But I was surprised & happy to see my old buddy again!…

For fishing on shore this is the cats @ss, it's wireless RSS transceiver only works when it hits the water, gives readings of depth, water temp,… Continue

The first tournament of the season was on Lake Champlain. If you haven't fished Champs it is really like three different lakes: the northern section is different from the central section, which is different from the southern end. Friday I practiced near the Plattsburgh Boat Basin....Read… Continue

I caught the most fish at camp. 25 in one hour. Of course they were very small bluegills but a lot of kids just don't know how to fish our just don't like fishing. There was only about 20 kids in the whole camp that went fishing. All I had to do was drop my line right of the dock and they were hooked. I got to speak on the microphone about it. I wish I never had to do that because all week long people asked me if I was the kid that caught 25 fish. I was thinking in my head if you want to see… Continue

Was up to the trailer this weekend and boy was the Big Manistee ever up. It was clipping along too. Took a ride down to Ludington on M31 and saw the devestation in Mason County first hand. Many creeks are now rivers, washed out roads and standing water. I guess I missed the worst of it too.

Yesterday 6.17.08 my brother and headed out to a lake right by our house. Its called Hidden Lake, which is actually a lake in an apartment complex. We had fished there before but caught nothing but small perch. But we had heard stories about some cat and bass that were in the lake. Well it was about 9:15pm when my brother had his line in the water just off the bank in the shallows. He had a piece of Kielabasa Spicey sausage on his hook and the tiny perch we just pecking away at it. By some… Continue

Tuesday, June 17th (regular day off) went to Harvey County East Park fishing. Visited my "honey hole" that always has been productive during the bluegill spawn. Water clear and I was amazed that no small bluegill were biting, only big ones! Caught and released probably 25 big 'gills, couple of channel cats and even a nice bass. Caught a couple of small fish that looked suspiciously like white perch. Had never caught them there before. All in all, a great day fishing! Used small worms with #8… Continue

Little bit of a press release here.
I have been working really hard over the past year to produce a fishing DVD series called "Pro Fishing Video Magazine". It is a subscription based series where you get three DVD a year. It's packed with Bass, Walleye, Pike and Musky action. It is growing and I will try to cover as much about fishing as possible. This is not your "go to a remote lake and catch a ton of fish" type… Continue

All day Saturday was spent on the water. Wind was a major problem from the start so I was forced to find an unplanned spot within a wake free bay. I was somewhat successful, landing a few largemouths. Most bass have now moved off their spawning beds and are either in deeper, cooler water or in extreme shallows in thick cover. After spending morning on the Eastern Neck, I came back for lunch then headed back out to Green's Basin.
