New Orleans Fishing Report 7/21/13 Bayou Life is Good !!

There goes another good week of fishing red fish here in Lafitte , Louisiana . New Orleans has a lot to offer even good fishing . I'm located just 20 miles south of New Orleans and we're catching red fish daily . Their  varying in size from 14"- 27 "It just depends on what spot we're fishing . The weather has been nice with the breeze and over cast. The rain has been mostly in the evenings and by that time we are back cleaning fish . All the rain has really muddied the lake up and the current is wide open

All The rain really took its toll on the lake. The water is still really muddy on the river and flats just off from the river. The water got so high that many of the docks at the ramps were under water and the big can buoys on the river channel have big grass heaps hanging off from them from where the buoys were pulled under from all the current. I have seen several buoys that have been pulled out of place also. The water level is back to being about normal level but will take several more…

New Orleans Fishing Report 7/11/13 Red Fishing In Lafitte and filling the box up !!!!

Another good week of fishing down in the books here in Lafitte ,Louisiana . We are still fishing for red fish and catching plenty of fish daily . This week we mostly fished with market shrimp under a cork or on bottom . The fish didn't want the artificial I guess with all the rain and cooling waters . Now the water temps are getting back to normal and we should be able to catch em on artificial or market shrimp. I wanna thank everyone for coming out and enjoying a good time with New Orleans…

The grass is the way to go, the deep bite has slowed down.

The fishing has still been pretty hot. We are catching around the grass and also still have a few big schools out deep. Grass fish are biting swimbaits, top water baits and popping baits like chug bugs , rico’s or pop r’s are working best, worms, spinnerbaits and flippin big 1 oz. jigs are also producing. Deep fish are on crankbaits, swimbaits, worms and football jigs with a few also on a spoon.

If fishing the grass concentrate on 8 to 12 feet and if you want to fish deep the best…

New Orleans Fishing Report 7/5/13- Fishing Red Fish and Loving it here in New Orleans

As the sun rises and sets the tides come up and fall out . We have been fishing every day. Catching red fish here in Lafitte, Louisiana just 20 miles south of New Orleans. The red fish are coming in all sizes from 13"- 30 " Yesterday with the Pham family trip we had 4 reds that went over the 27" mark. That's a fun fish to fight on light tackle .
