I'm pretty proud of my recent catch - I know it's not a whale or anything but it is the biggest small mouth bass I've ever caught.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND. Went to Knolls Lake. Caught 0 fish. Fish report said it was good fishing there. But----big flat nothing. Everybody I talked to at lake also caught nothing. Lots of dissapointed people. Only one couple did that I know of. They were floating worms. I tried it---but it did not work.
Anybody else try fishing that lake over the weekend? Hope your luck was better.

My 15 Minutes of Fame as a Top 15 Finalist
I will never forget the events of the last 6 days. This past week was the end of the inaugural season of the $7.3 Million FLW Fantasy Fishing League. With the regular FLW tournament season and the Forrest Wood Cup Championship coming to an end, so did the 2008 fantasy fishing season. Unlike many other fantasy games, FLW boasted the biggest payout in fantasy sports history. For the 6 regular season tour stops,…

Finished third out of 27 teams in the Lewisville crappie tournament. Seven-fish limit weighed 8.980. 10.4 won it, 9.7 was second. Big fish was 1.8 something weighed in by the second-place team. Our two biggest went 1.60 anda 1.56. Split $180 with my partner.

It has been a couple of weeks since I received my order from JDC Baits. Among the baits that I was really excited to fish was the RocKraw which has a reputation for being a real fish catcher.

I recently had an opportunity to spend a wekend bass fishing with a good friend who also happens to be a staunch fly-fisherman. I was interested in comparing the two techniques and their effectiveness on bass.
We were fishing out of a 16' side console fishing boat. My buddy "McFly" was on the trolling motor and I was in the back.
The first thing about bass fishing out of a boat with a fly-fisher is that they take up a lot of airspace with false casting. I found myself…

First off, I want to thank everyone for joining the site, it has been a huge success with a very avid and engaged membership. I can't believe it has only been 5 months. It's fantastic to see everyone joining, connecting and sharing great fishing content.
This brings me to the latest trend I've seen happening on the site, especially in the blog posting section. Lately there have been rather offensive and "stand-off-ish" postings where members are talking about…

Well what a great time fishing this past Wednsday. My wife and I took our kids to see an international fireworks competition. While we were waiting for the works to fire off, we decided to wet a line for about an hour. What an hour it was. My 4 year old son caught himself and fine looking 2lbs smallie. The squeel of excitement from my family blew my eardrums out. A few minutes later, I caught another smallmouth but a little smaller then my sons fish. All in all a good time was had by all.…

Glad to be back home from Lake Chautauqua. This was the third tournament of the season and I really don't have much to say about it except it was kind of bittersweet for me....not catching fish in practice and not having a starting point is the kind of "brain-weevil" that is detrimental to my fishing and it showed at Chautauqua....

Recently I have committed myself to learn the art of lure fishing. I became lazy with bait fishing due to the fact I was always fishing from land and it seemed to be such a hassle. I have watched bassmasters elite every saturday morning and have learned a lot. But, there is so many different circumstances involving location, weather, water clarity, type of fish, and so on. I bought all the right worm colors but don't really understand how to work them. My patience and inability to distinguish a…
