Gore Canyon backpacking and fishing

Shew....I haven't been backpacking in years. We went for 3 days into Gore Canyon outside Kremmling, Colorado, so our packs were a light 50+ pounds. The terrain just killed us though. It went like this- first mile down a jeep road to a 45 degree drop down loose rocky soil onto the 'trail'. Second mile- following goat trail along edge of Colorado River along cliff faces, hanging onto trees to stay on the mountain side 35 feet above class 6 rapids. Third mile- all rocks. BIG ROCKS. Rock hopping…

Small baits that can be inhaled by the fish are much better when river fishing. Bass are more active in the river than in lakes and tend to eat smaller morsels more often. To cast a distance it is advisable to use the heaviest line, braided ones are among the best. The line must be strong enough to withstand abrasions, which is one of the most…

10 Reasons You Should Teach Your Kids to Fish

I believe every kid should learn to fish. In today’s society, things are moving at an insane pace, getting faster and faster and it seems like our attention span is getting shorter and shorter. Today’s electronic devices are an addiction for most of our kids; if you don’t believe me, try taking them away for a week.

So how can we get back to basics?  Slow things down? How do we just RELAX?

Unbelievable BS

So last night me and Jay went out to our local spot and when we got out to our spot there were already 2 guys fishing there. So we just fished on the outside of them, we never fished between there poles. After about an hour they decided to move over and let us fish where they were fishing. We were out fishing for muskies and so after about 5 casts after they moved I caught like a 28-31 inch pike, nothing special, personally I would have rather it not hit at all.

So the guy that moved…
