Wading in Tarpon Spring

The day appeared hopeless. I was wade fishing with my friend liz. We fished the Anclote river for a while . I hate that place it has cost me a small fortune in tackle. After losing three rigs and no luck.  I suggested we moved to the flats.  The tide was  high and strong, winds between 5 and 15 mph water temp dropping. Liz forged a path in neck deep water. Finally we made our stand on a small sand bar about a 1/2 mile off shore.  Huge sting rays were everywhere like sharks just waiting for…

Alabama Rigs and Boats

The Cobra runs pretty good, about 72 GPS; however it does not run like a Gambler with a complete Hypertech beast on the back.

About the Alabama Rigs:  It seems the appearance of the bait stimulates the fish into reacting to a schooling bait fish situation, especially if there is some competition around.

Alabama Rigs and Boats

Just wondering if any of you regular fishermen are having success using the Alabama rig.  It seems like all of the tournament winners are capitalizing on it.  I have not  used it yet, but wondering if it is worth the investment.  I can remember when a buck bought a first class lure and 25 bucks could purchase an Ambassador 5000 reel which I still have.  Boy have times (and cost) changed.  I got my son interested in fishing fairly inexpensively as a way of doing things together.  That is not…
