It's been a while since I wrote a blog here. The past few weeks had been a mixed bag of work, fishing and the mother of all nosebleeds as my wife calls it that ended in me having an operation in my nose. I lost quite a bid of blood, over 2/3 to be exact, and I am still feeling the aftermath of it today.

I have to take it easy for a few weeks and spend that time fishing with my wife on one of the many great fishing lakes near our home. It's July and that means hunting season is only two month away. Time to get ready for hunting and the hunting seminar fall tour. On July 11 I am taking part in the grand opening of the Powderkeg Sporting Supply store here in Merritt if you are in or around Merritt come on by and say hello, we have a lot of cool stuff going on like fly tying and bowhunting clinics, music, BBQ and much more.

The nose is fine, they had to remove a lot of bone splinters form several nose fractures I had over the years. It's still a bit sore but I am healing. I bled non-stop for four days and three nights until the imbecile doctor in the small hospital decided to call a specialist. He kept trying to stop my nose bleed but to no avail. By the time I was in the big hospital and saw a specialist I lost a lot of blood but had no clue it was that much.

Then my family doctor said that he wanted a blond test done after I told him that I feel like a drunk all day and tired. A day after the blood tests the doc phoned me and said, "You lost 2/3 of your blood. Take it easy now. No lifting, no hiking, no driving and no bending over or you could slip into a coma just like that." He was mad that the hospital didn't give me a blood transfusion. He said that I would have needed at least two to three units of blood.

I got a iron rich diet and iron pills prescribed and after two weeks I start to feel a little better but still get dizzy spells as soon I lift as much as a garbage can or get a bit to quickly up from the bed or a chair. The good news is that the doctor thinks that I will be just fine by the time the hunting season opens on September 1st.
